Bitchen
I lied like I always do. I got jack shit done. I'm now 50% done with the necklace, and I started wrapping the green yard around the oval beads, but I don't quite like how it's turning out, so I may just go back to Michael's to get the appropriate yarn (as the yarns that I'm using are all not the same brand and type).
In other news, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO KNIT IN THE ROUND WITH 4 DOUBLE-ENDED NEEDLES! I know it's not terribly significant or profound for you expert knitters, but it is for me. And with that, I've started knitting a Kittyville hat ^.^
The weather has been beautiful, as of late, and I've been feeling a lot happier.
Houston was great, by-the-way. Well, except for how I fenced (like crap). But a couple of friends took me to Galveston and to some Rainforest Exhibit, both of which were awesome.
I got an early Chinese New Year gift from my friend. It makes me laugh, just looking at it, because, well, it's both funny and cute. I might just post a pic of it up later.
So, I finally figured out what I'm going to be doing and giving to my friends for (this past) X-Mas. In my world, it's never too late to hand out presents. Kind of...
But, let's just say that it has to do with the grossgrain ribbon and D-rings previously mentioned, as well as small, plastic containers, wax/vaseline, and blackcurrant/grapefruit-flavored candy boxes. :D Maybe some paint and other random stuff, as well. We'll see how it turns out...
Oops...
I lied. I failed, once again, to finish anything on-time. However, I'd like to believe that I had a good excuse this time--beside school, at least. Actually I have many excuses:
1) I fenced for the first time, on Tuesday, in 4 months. Apparently, I overexerted myself, and kind of pulled a muscle to the left of my right knee cap. So, when I went to train, on Thursday, I couldn't even sit on guard. My mom game me a massage and I ended up crying because of how excruciating the pain was. I've been busy icing that, for the past few days and stuff. But, I'm much better now.
2) Pretty much last minute, I was told that I would be going to a mini-camp, this weekend. So, I fenced Friday, Saturday, and Today. oy.
3) We had a kind of impromptu family reunion, last night. All of my family on my dad's side was in town, so we decided to eat dinner together, take an assload [no joke--we took A LOT] of photos, and us kiddies went out for ice cream (Cold Stone's) and dropped Robin and Candice, on the way back. Lots of fun was had, though, as we got to take plenty of silly pics--one of me doing that "ohmy!" face, while standing next to my parents.
Well, that sure as heck beats the old "my dog ate my projects" excuse. Although I'd like to get a dog...
I will finish in the next 2 weeks--honest, this time! I may not get much done, this week, because I'm leaving for a competition taking place in Houston, in about 4 days, but
something will be done within these 2 weeks, bygolly.
40% done...
Between time spent working on my college apps and on AP Lit hw (who do I procrastinate?!), I am slowly getting the necklace done. I'm almost done wrapping yarn on the round wooden beads, and will next move to wrapping yarn around the oval beads. After that, all I have to do is string them together and figure out how I want to close it (Tie it? Use some sort of closure, like a lobster claw? Use those balls, hehe...balls...).
Joann's may be my new favorite store. Since I was a little kid, Michael's was seriously my favorite store. My dad would drop me off there for, like, 2 hours, and when he came back to pick me up, I still wouldn't be finished looking at stuff! However, lately I've been finding more of the supplies that I need for projects at Joann's fabrics. I went today to buy my supplies for the gifts I've yet to make my friends as a late X-Mas gift. When I finished getting those supplies, I checked out the knitting supplies aisle, and I FINALLY FOUND THE DOUBLE-POINTED NEEDLES IN THE RIGHT SIZES that I've been looking for. A little choir sang when I looked at the size 10 needles XD This means that I can finally work on that knit kitty hat I've been wanting to make for about 2 years, now. I also got some in size 8.
So, my to-do list this week:
-finish necklace
-start and finish making X-mas gifts (hint: it includes grosgrain ribbon *winkwinknudgenudgerightrightsaynomore, knowwhatImean?* too much Monty Python for me...)
-maybe make lip gloss for them, as well...?
-make Donna's gift (it involves bleach and an article of clothing ^.~)
and that's prolly all I'll have time for, this week. Then I'll be working on that knit cap and an assload of pop-top belts.
Hoorah!
